About APA-PFAW
Psychosocial health risks have been major occupational health concerns around the world. The Asia-Pacific region is one of the most economically dynamic areas and has a large workforce. However, workplace psychosocial health issues across diverse cultural contexts in the Asia-Pacific region have been understudied, and integration across research, practice, and policy has also been insufficient.
Asia Pacific Academy for Psychosocial Factors at Work (APA-PFAW) was established in 2012 following a series of expert meetings across the Asia Pacific region. The overarching aim of the Academy is to bring together academics, practitioners, and policy participants from the Asia Pacific region and beyond, and to contribute to better working arrangements and occupational safety and health. The academy provides a forum to discuss psychosocial factors at work, to share and generate knowledge, to deliver education and training, to build greater networks, and to foster opportunities to prevent work injury.
Since its founding, APA-PFAW has organized four international conferences: the 1st was held in 2018 at Massey University in Auckland, the 2nd was conducted online in 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic, the 3rd and 4th were held in Tokyo in 2023 and Ho Chi Minh City in 2025, respectively, and the 5th will be held in Taipei in 2027.

About the National Center for Geriatrics and Welfare Research and NHRI
The National Health Research Institutes (NHRI) is a non-for-profit foundation established by the government of Taiwan in 1995. As an independent mission-oriented research organization under the auspices of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the NHRI is dedicated to enhancing medical research and improving healthcare nationwide.
Driven by the challenges in the super-aged era, the National Center for Geriatrics and Welfare Research was established in 2020 under the administration of the NHRI, in close collaboration with National Taiwan University. The Center aims to serve as a national research hub on aging to inform the design of senior health and long-term care policies, while effectively integrating and allocating research and social welfare resources across the nation.
The National Center for Geriatrics and Welfare Research organizes annual international conferences on critical topics related to aging. Recent conference themes have included healthy aging and lifestyle (2022), healthy aging and biomarkers (2023), healthy aging and nutrition (2024), and healthy aging and mental well-being (2025).
